A workshop organized in Ferizaj within the project “Sustainable Rural Development and Reconciliation in Kosovo” financed by We Effect and implemented by Initiative for Kosova Community (IKC), brought together farmers and representatives of local authorities from the Municipality of Ferizaj, Municipality of Viti, Municipality of Lipjan, Municipality of Shtime, Municipality of Kaçanik, Municipality of Hani i Elezit and Municipality of Kllokot.
The main objective of this workshop was to provide the opportunity to farmers in this region to directly address their needs at local authorities and, together with representatives of the agricultural forestry and rural development departments from the respective municipalities, to identify the priority fields in the agriculture sector and rural development to be addressed during 2019.
During this activity, representatives from local authorities presented the work-plan for next year, while on the other hand, farmers addressed concrete requests to them. During a work in groups session, both farmers and representatives from municipalities have identified priority areas that specifically address the needs of farmers from these municipalities, that also contribute directly to farmers’ progress and rural development in general.
After discussions the areas identified were presented by each working group from the respective municipalities, creating an overview that specifically orients the work of local authorities in this sector and farmers’ engagement for the coming years.
